The STAR Foundation, Inc. At-A-Glance

The STAR Foundation, Inc. is the endowment fund of STAR Inc. Lighting the Way… and also provides grants to other agencies serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

29 years providing funding to support specialized services to children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities

$2 million in grants funded core programs that annually focus on social and communicative skills, self-determination, independent living skills, and career or educational training resulting in:

• 84 individuals living in residences, including 12 group homes and 17 apartments
• 65 individuals placed in competitive jobs
• 500 plus infants, children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families receive individualized services annually
• 74% of people served come from the low / moderate income level

The STAR Foundation, Inc. was established in 1993 to provide an endowment to support STAR, Inc. Lighting the Way. It is organized exclusively for charitable, educational and scientific purposes, in particular for the purpose of advancing the welfare and quality of life of persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
